Fun Monday: the view from my porch

Things in my part of the country don't change much when it comes to the seasons. In fact, we have four rather unique seasons: Warm, Hot, Hotter'n Hell and Partly Cloudy With a Chance of Showers.

I jest, of course.

But I wouldn't know Fall if it fell on me. We don't get colorful leaf changes. We get green ... then dead and on the ground.

However, there is one thing that we get most of the year and was the reason I fell in love with my house. We had roses, roses and more roses.

Roses to the front of us.

Roses to the back of us.

And my trellis! Sigh.

But lest you think it's all gorgeous where I am, I leave you with this image of a project-in-progress. Eventually, it will be a fenced vegetable garden with new grass. But for now, it's just ... well ... gross.

OK, Wonderhubby, time to get digging!

Lovely, Lovely Roses. My old house was full of them too. Unfortunately they dont like the coastal house so much, so I dont have any anymore!

I bet the garden will be great. Im totally enjoying my new garden. (Except the part the dog seems to think is her own! sigh!)

I don't envy you the work ahead for the garden.
But I do envy you the roses.

My yard just doesn't have enough sunshine anymore for them.

Your roses are beautiful. Welcome to Fun Monday. You are a courageous soul volunteering for hosting Fun Monday and a poll too. I shall be checking back a few times for the poll results.

You don't even want to see my yard right now. There are grass and weeds and weird mushrooms growing that are bigger than my dogs. The roses are lovely! I always dreamed of having a yard full of flowers. Then reality (and my black thumb) sets in. :)

We don't get much fall color either. The 4-H camp up near Manhattan, KS has a lot of maples and it's the best place I've seen for fall color in KS.

Those are beautiful roses, though!

If I didn't know better, I'd swear you must be in Florida with all the non changing of the weather from, hot. It was 78 degrees here at 7:30 this morning. That's just gross.
Anyway, your roses are lovely beyond words!! I'd love to see the veggie garden once it's up and running!
I voted for next Monday's choice too.. I'd love to ramble on about my romantic metting of my husband.

Lovely roses, they remind me of the childhood garden. Unfortunately I don't have any now - my fingers aren't the greenest!
It was my first Fun Monday to, good luck with hosting next weeks you had some great ideas - I'm voting for romantic meeting - ahhh

Roses are beautiful and I love the scented ones. Your proposed veggie garden sounds great, I can't think of anything better than picking fresh veg just before cooking it.

I think I can smell your roses. I love roses. I'm not good at growing them, but I am good at putting a dozen of them in a vase.
I hope your wonderhubby is more motivated than my wonderhubby to finish projects like that.

The roses are beautiful. My yard is full of unfinished projects. It drives me crazy sometimes. I just realized I hadn't visited your fun Monday even though I kept coming to check on the progress of the next one, so I thought I would comment anyway even though it is late.

Most of the time I have snow envy...right now, I'm having a bit of rose (and future garden) envy.

Just lovely :).

Sorry I missed this last time!
