Bite me

The Roo-girl is currently OBSESSED with a series of books written by Stephenie Meyer.

It is the story of a reasonably ordinary girl who finds herself involved with a coven (coven? is that what they're called) of vampires who attend her high school.

Roo is very funny when she gets involved in something like this. She wants to share.

After she finished the first book, "Twilight," she thrust it at me and insisted that I read it too. Meanwhile, she threw herself into the second book, "New Moon," and then the third, "Eclipse" (which was, in fact, was what led to the ... ahem ... nakiness story from yesterday).

I finished the first book over the competition weekend, and I must admit I was sucked into the world of vampires too. (Heh, sucked into the world of vampires. I crack myself up sometimes!)

So now that Roo and I have this cast of characters in common, we can discuss it indepth. And the questions keep on coming from her:

"Who was your favorite character?"

"What color do you think Edward's hair is?"

"Did you like Jacob? I absolutely hate him."

"Who do you think should play Edward if they make a movie?"

I didn't have anyone in mind for the role of the drop-dead gorgeous, eternally romantic 17-year-old vampire. But Roo did.

"Johnny Depp ... TOTALLY!"

Johnny Depp? I looked at her and rolled my eyes. "Roo, he's too OLD to play a high school student."

"Oh, Mom," she retorted. "Johnny Depp is perfect. He's TIMELESS."

I think I'm going to be ill.

Oh yes, Johnny Depp is timeless. She is right about that. I think even he would have trouble pulling off 17-year-old high school student, though. Too bad the books weren't out during his 21 Jump Street days. I said JUMP, down on Jump Street!

I actually spent some time looking at fairy and elf pictures yesterday and did not quite find what I was searching for. There were 3 or 4 pics that could have been combined to almost make it. Oh well. If your familiar with some of the Pre-Raphaelite stuff, that's the *feel* of it. I think the reason I thought of it was because my brother recently had my kids pose for some photos (in costumes though) for some paintings he wants to do. The photos had (and the paintings will have) that same feel.

You know, I love Johnny Depp as much as the other billion chicks on the face of this planet. But I'd have to say, he wouldn't be able to pull of being 17. Sorry Roo-dear.

Oh, I love him funny that Roo Girl thinks that about him..timeless indeed...I seen those books at the book store over the weekend..they had all three in a boxed set...I read about them on someone else's blog as, I love to, I think I will ask hubby for the set for Valentines Day...then we can discuss it as well.

Timeless? I dunno about that. I totally agree with you here. He's WAY to old to pull off 17. You two crack me up something fierce!

Johnny Depp could suck my neck, just not as a 17yr old boy...he is timeless but 17 is too much of a stretch for him. You and Roo crack me up!

Blogger just ate my comment. Oh well. Basically, Johnny Depp = timeless = true and I was wondering if your daughters had read Wicked Lovely yet. I've heard great things about it, but haven't gotten a chance to read it myself yet.
