Fun Monday: the collectibles edition

The oh-so-lovely Mariposa is our oh-so-lovely hostess for today's journey into the fun'ness that is Monday in these here parts.

Here is what she is a-hankerin' to see (and no, I DON'T know why I went all cowboy on you here!):

I want to see your collection. If you don't have or don't want or CAN'T (wink) show us a picture, then tell us what the collection is in 10 words or less. Then tell us why you started collecting it.
I don't really have a collection of much of anything, but there is one thing that collects here.

Yes, that is lint. Dryer lint, to be exact. For reasons that escape me, there is a waste basket right by the dryer that hardly EVER gets emptied.

And therefore, lint collects.

Oh, I jest, of course.

But there are really no other collections in our house.

Outside, however, we have this collection:

And this one:

Now go see the other Fun Monday'ers who have REAL collectibles! *grin*

Oh yeah, we do the lint thing too! The flowers are beautiful, what are they please?

Lint does have a habit of collecting itself, doesn't it?
I love the roses, but fear that they would not love me.

I'm so glad you posted a picture of the lint! I knew what it was when I saw the picture, but I did not know what word to use for that! Thx, I learned something again today!
You have some great roses in your garden by the way!

I have one of those garbage cans too. It literally gets to overflowing before I have to empty it (no one else ever even thinks of doing that).

Your roses are gorgeous. I wish my thumb wasn't black.

Oh, Janet you have the best collection in the flowers...one that doesn't collect dust, and they are beautiful as well.

Snort, we have a similar lint collection. And we collect stuff in our garden too. Weeds. It's totally deliberate, honest. :D

I have the lint issue too!! Of course, you're a step ahead of me by having a trash can there...one day I'll have one...yup...one day...for now, it'll jsut accumulate on top of the dryer.

Did you know you can sell your lint? Seriously, there's a whole troop of people who use it to make homemade paper.

Only Jenny would comment that! Ha. And, I love the roses. I've always wanted a backyard with an English garden.

Your outside collectibles are beautiful...

We have the SAME KIND of laundry trash: just never seems to get emptied. I have many times gazed at the piles of lint, wondering if I could use it to stuff a mattress or something.

Thanks for dropping by. Hope you enjoy this weeks Fun Monday. Have a great week ahead! ;-)

okay Jenny needs to give us all the address of who buys lint. I would so be rich if I knew who buys it. hahahaha

And I have the home of mutant dust bunnies.

Seriously though I collect wind chimes and dragons. I have over 100 windchimes hung up in my house IN not counting the one's hanging outside.

And I have almost as many dragons.

Love your flowers. One day I hope to have ones as beautiful as those. As for the lint, it collects in the trash can nearby.

I'm SO envious of your rose collection. I'd LOVE 'em, but I kill 'em!

you are too funny...we have the same garbage can by the dryer...I almost took a picture of my roses also, but when I sat down to write the post it was dark outside, so I had to get creative!!

Lint, sand, gravel, grime--we have it all here. Just wish that dang cleaning woman would get off the internet.

Loving that lint collection. I wonder how much you could sell it on eBay for? Just claim it's from Britney Spears' belly button or something.

IamwhoIam said...

If you dry on a line no lint, but your roses are in bloom? Mind are just buds, and a fear the frost has killed those. But yours look so lovely.

dawn224 said...

Me too! I have the lint basket as well!

Faye said...

I too have a lint bucket--how novel to put a trash can nearby!

Are your roses the old English varieties? The white one reminds me of one I used to have that smells like cloves--am trying to remember name as I type--no luck.

Pamela said...

snort laughing over your lint. AT LEAST it isn't still in the dryer like mine always is. oh so funny silly!

Never occurred to me to post all the flowers we plant. Your roses love sunshine, I can tell.

(I'd considered posting all the dust collecting...)

When I was a kid I saw a TV show (I could swear it was 60 minutes) about this lady that made lint art. She would specifically wash certain colors together to create the correct color lint. I don't remember what the art looked like, but every time I empty out the lint tray I think what a waste not to be putting it to it's artistic potential...
