Fun Monday: the show me your closet edition

Young Cassie, the daughter of Alison from RDH Mom, has brought the Fun Monday hosting duties to the second generation.

She wants to peek into our closets. I suspect it's to make her feel better about the condition of her own!

Here are her own words:
Calling all Bloggers!! I'm hosting the next Fun Monday and here is my assignment:

I want to see the inside of your closet!! I want to see if your closet is as messy as mine!!! You can't organize it before you take the picture!!
Well, Miss Cassie, I am not willing to bare all to the internets.

Which is why I am breaking the rules a smidgen (a la Swampy) to give you an edited peek into my closet. I want to show you some things in my closet that never cease to make me smile!

Make me smile No. 1:

This is my bouquet from my wedding to Wonderhubby five-plus years ago. One of the happiest moment of my life, for sure. Having the bouquet hanging in my closet makes me smile every time.

Make me smile No. 2:

Huh? What is THAT? Well, let me tell you. Two years ago, for Valentine's Day, I wrote up about 15 little love notes and put them everywhere. In his pants pocket. In his wallet. In his work truck. Inside his phone.

And in the closet was the one that you see in this photo.

Still there. Two years later.

See? It makes me smile.

Now go see if other Fun Monday'ers were willing to show off their messy closets. I'm hoping someone is messier than me. It'll make me feel better!

I love the romantic flowers and love note. I used to put little notes all over for my hubby too.

That is so sweet. I couldn't dry my bouquet because it was Calla Lillies which dry really ugly & bad. But I have my veil, and a box full of cards & stuff. Happy memories!

I just wonder how my wedding bouquet would look after 39 years of wedding, lol ! But I have thrown it away a few days after the wedding !
How sweet to keep it !

LOL! Now I finally felt I could not say a la Swampy anymore! I have followed in her footsteps one too many times!

Now I think those flowers need a decent burial my dear! Save the ribbons by all means but the flowers really are beyond redemption! LOL! I gave mine up many years ago!

For some reason no matter what you do I go off to song mode! I was thinking of a song then realised you probably would not know it!
There was a show here years ago called Prisoner and the them song went like this....

Verse 1
He used to give me roses
I wish he could again
But that was on the outside
And things were different then

Verse 2
We build our world together
With a love so clear and strong
But that was on the outside
Where did I go wrong?

On the inside the sun still shines
And the rain falls down
But the sun and rain are prisoners too
When morning comes around

Verse 3
Last night I dreamed we were together
Sharing all the love we'd known
'Til I had to face the nightmare
Of waking up alone

Repeat Chorus

New Chorus
On the inside the roses grow
They don't mind the stony ground
But the roses here are prisoners too
When morning comes around

Verse 4
He used to give me roses
I wish he could again
But that was on the outside
And things were different then

Its a really beautiful song!
I would love to hear you sing it Angel voice!

Happy Fun Monday. said...

WOW. The inside of the closet? That is pure bravery. I love that he kept the love note up. I did that in Puppy's dorm one time.

your closet is romantic. mine is not.

That's really neat. The stuff IN your closet - not your closet.

Believe me, there are PLENTY of messy closets out there!

Tiggerlane said...

That is just too sweet!

Okay - you may think you got by with all the sappiness, but you owe us photos of your mess!

That was sweet.
You had no worries--my closet is the winner! (Unfortunately... I WAS hoping to feel better about my closet, or at least find a messy closet friend....)

I have my bouquet. It's in the dining room window and is majorly dusty. How do you clean those things? My closet is actually fairly organized. I learned to sort things by item when I moved one time and discovered a really great pair of slacks I hadn't worn in 3 years because I forgot I had them.

How romantic! And they say men don't have it in them. I'm sure your note brings back a "back at ya" response from your hub or he wouldn't keep it taped in the closet for all this time. It's the little things, isn't?

I love the note! That would definitely make me smile too.

Very sweet - you have a very smile-filled closet.
What a terrific place to step into every day!
Thanks for sharing!
