Parlez-vous Youtube??

There are all kinds of solutions to problems.

Some of them are old school.

Some of them are new school.

And some of them?

Are just plain time-saving genius.

"Oh noooooooooooo," moaned the Roo-girl. "I have a French test tomorrow, and I'm not ready!!!!!"

*Editor's note: Please do NOT lecture me on how she should be taking Spanish instead of French. It was a fruitless argument that I had with her for at least two years before she entered high school. French she wanted, and so, ultimately, French it is.*

Anyway.

"Oh noooooooooooo," moaned the Roo-girl. "I have a French test tomorrow, and I'm not ready!!!!!"

"What is the test on?" asked the concerned (yet always Evil) Mother.

"The French alphabet," she whimpered.

"How much of it do you know?"

"None?"

*Insert heavy maternal sigh here*

"Can you help me? Please? Help me study?"

"Sure, let's start with just saying the letters ..."

And I proceeded to rattle off (slowly) the alphabet in French. Not for nothin' did I have 12 years of French in school!!!

"What??? Wait. Um. I don't get it ..."

*Deep breathing, counting silently to 10 and rethinking takes place here*

AHA!!!!

"Come with me, my little chickadee," I told my almost-weepy child.

And I led her into my room, where my laptop awaited.

Can I just say this took less than 15 minutes, and she was spot-on perfect?

I love technology.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

We did get a little crazy after that, looking at all kinds of alphabet videos, both French and English, and laughing ourselves silly.

But it wasn't until we got to this one that we came unglued.

It's a sickness.

I STILL can't pronounce the French Y LMAO! That frog has scary eyes *shiver* and Michael Jackson doesn't scare me at all...the overly loud noise did irritate me, tho ;-)

Wonder if there's one for Japanese...hmmm...off to see.

No pee? Bwahahaha!!!!!

You are a genius for thinking of that. Well, not so much the Michael Jackson no pee thing, but that French Frog is all that. Wonder if he turns into a prince, too?

God god, could you warn a pregnant lady about the last video. I just about tinkled my pants.

Officially scared of YouTube. Yup.

I took two years of high school French. It was fun. But I'm lame at it. The French Y is impossible.

Where was that frog when I was trying to learn high school French from SOUTHERNERS@!@!?!?! I got to college and the professor was actually from France. It was like starting over. OK, it actually WAS starting over. Although it was the TEETH on the frog that I found disturbing.
And the ABC song? I had to explain to my kids why I was hysterical laughing over the abc song.

Phew, I almost thought I was going to be rickrolled!

Two years of French here. I wanted to make my Papa happy. It doesn't do me much good to say "It is snowing" in Florida. I can say my alphabet and count to 100, though!

I watched the first video just to see if I remembered them correctly. They aren't that different except how they mix up a few letters like g and j an call y and z funny names. The second video? CD and no pee had me laughing. I do wish I hadn't had my volume up so loud though.

LOL, too funny! I took French too because I want to go to Paris someday. I seriously need to brush up. 4 years in high school, 1 semester in college when it FINALLY clicked...and then I didn't need to take anymore so sadly I didn't, because I didn't have time.
But those videos are great!

Holy carp I nearly peed my pants. Dang! And, can I say you are a much better mama thank I am? I never would've even thought of looking on youtube for that.

Vincent the not-yet-made-into a delicacy is creepy tho.

L M NO PEE !

That's great...BUT, I will have nightmares about Michael Jackson tonight.

As far as the French alphabet goes, no way, Jose. I took Spanish.
My tongue just can't produce those sounds.

Have missed seeing you at my place.

The frog video reminds me of when they take a still picture and transpose a moving mouth on it. *Shudder* FREAKS. ME. OUT. I love Youtube though. You can pretty much find anything you want on there, from how to cut a mango, to fixing a car, to effectively TP someone's house. ;)

See now my first word was "bitch". But that wouldn't be nice. Much like scaring the bejeebers OUT OF ME! I did have to laugh at the "no pee" thing though. That almost made up for the scaring me to death. Almost.
