Oh Janet! I have no idea what this feels like but yesterday, I separated my twins for the first time and sent one off to school by herself and I swear...even though Lily and I had great fun, it was hell. I missed my other baby so much and it was as if something was not right the entire time. When she got home - even though the chaos and bickering ensued - it was as if all was right in our worlds again.
I'm sure you are ecstatic right about now...enjoy!
Enjoy those precious moments! As children go older, somehow those moments become fewer! But when they happen, it can be utter bliss! Like home is complete again!
i'm so happy for you that your son is coming home!! it's funny how, when your kids are young...you can't wait for them to get the heck out of the house so you don't have to hear the whining, crying, fighting...etc. and then...you can't stand the fact that they are gone. being a mommy is a no win situation on so many levels!!! xo
My niece is a freshman in college this year and her mom is missing her horribly. We're all looking forward to spending time with her next week for Thanksgiving!
My kids are just 6 and 3. Sending them to school is challenge enough for me right now. I'm going to pretend that day will never come;)
The whole time #3 son was away that school for the insanely bright, I missed him and his one word answers and our fights over the fact the he would never, ever get off his computer. His weekends home were bliss - it just felt 'right' with him in the house. Just knowing he was there. Babe, I know what your Haiku means. I do.
I'm a working wife and mom, married 9 years to the Wonderhubby. My five kids (yes five) are 31 (Drummer Man), 28 (Drama King), 22 (Z-man), 22 (J-Bear) and (gulp) 18 (the Roo-girl). What was I thinking? Oh yeah, I was thinking that I love my life, my kids, my world. Right now, I'm dealing with the end of high school and the start of college years (eek!), new drivers, rebellious twentysomethings, my emptying nest (cry) and letting go. Have fun with your son! Someday that will be me... but I've got a couple of years (like 17).
I am new here! What a great blog :)
Oh how wonderful!
I know exactally how you feel. When you have had them for 18 years and they leave all you want is for them to come home, dirty laundry and all.
Enjoy this weekend.
Yeah!!! Enjoy your time together.
Oh, wow. I can't even imagine. Have a ball. Lots of hugs and all, or do they not hug?
I just don't want to think about it. Scarlet and I will think about college tomorrow.
Your talent never fails to astound me. HUGS.
Did he smuggle the knives?
