I have to admit that Disneyworld was NEVER about the kids for us. It was always about the grown ups. When The Husband and I started dating, we went to Disneyworld every year. For about 5 years. We loved it ... and still do. In fact, we haven't been in a few years so we're planning on going next year. I can't wait! The year we took the kids (they were 6 and 12) they just didn't seem that interested. We spent soooo much money and on the plane home, they wanted to know when we were going camping. sigh
when i got you email, i thought, nope it's not that you're old it's that you are seeing the place more realistically. How much everything costs...etc.
I know I just really enjoyed seeing it through my kids' eyes...and that was enough for me to remember the magic. Remember the innocence of being a kid, and to try to enjoy it in that sense.
I think you need to tell Drummer to get on that grandchild thing - so you can relive through the eyes of others. I went in 06 with Hubby for his first time so we could enjoy it for us. We went with Knute last year to see if for him. And, I admit, I'm still pulling to squeak it in again when we're there in April.
For us, WDW is about taking the kids and seeing it through their eyes. It's too bad Roo girl missed out on the Bibbidi Bobidi Boutique-she would have loved it.
I'm a working wife and mom, married 9 years to the Wonderhubby. My five kids (yes five) are 31 (Drummer Man), 28 (Drama King), 22 (Z-man), 22 (J-Bear) and (gulp) 18 (the Roo-girl). What was I thinking? Oh yeah, I was thinking that I love my life, my kids, my world. Right now, I'm dealing with the end of high school and the start of college years (eek!), new drivers, rebellious twentysomethings, my emptying nest (cry) and letting go.
